About Marguerite-Blanche Cyr
"Taunte Blanche" kept the settlement functioning during the famine of 1797 when the men left to hunt food because the crops failed. A museum in her memory is located near St. David church & the Acadian cross placed to mark landing spot of the early Madawaska families (1785).
