Died, Feb. 2, l903, MARIA MCGAUGHEY. The deceased was born in Putnam County, Indiana, March l6, l825. Her maiden name was DAVIS. She was united in marriage to WILLIAM MCGAUGHEY in l840. To this union were born fourteen children, eight of whom survive her.
Early in life, she joined the M.E. Church, in which she lived a faithful member. She died at the home of her step-daughter, MRS. DAVID ODELL, after an illness of three and one-half days, aged 77 years, 10 mo. and 16 days. The husband has been dead thirty-one years. The funeral was preached from 2nd Timothy, 4:8, by W.A. VanWinkle.

OBITUARY: Maria Davis McGahuey - Decatur County Journal – February 29, 1903 - Died, Feb. 2, 1903, Maria McGaughey. The deceased was born in Putnam County, Indiana, March l6, 1825. Her maiden name was Davis. She was united in marriage to William McGaughey in 1840. To this union were born fourteen children, eight of whom survive her. Early in life, she joined the M.E.
