Maria van Beverhoudt and her first husband, Joachim Melchior von Holten, had at least six children, all but two of whom died in their childhood. Of the two surviving, Anna Maria von Holten, married Adrian van Beverhoudt.

Maria van Beverhoudt is the second member of the family to appear in the St. Thomas records. At the time of her engagement, she was stated to be "a girl from the island of Saba with the name Maria van Beverhout".[RA, V-gK, Nr. 499, Journal holden paa Ste. Thomas ... 29de January 1691 til 31te May 1692, 31 May 1692.]. On the 31 May 1692, she was engaged and on the 28th of June 1692, she married in the St. Thomas Lutheran Church, to Joachim Melchior von Holten,[RA, Lutheran Church, St.. Thomas, Church Book, 1671-1795, f. 11 & 13.] who was born on 17th March 1671, in Helsingør, Denmark and died on 21 December 1708 in St. Thomas.106 He was in the service of the West India-Guinea Company and finally became the Vice-Commandant of St. Thomas in 1708.

In 1694, the family took up a plantation on the east end of St. Thomas, and there they lived in 1699 and 1700.[RA, V-gK, Nr. Landlister for St. Thomas, 1688-1710, Liste Ower Deese Landts Planteres & Inwoonders ... 1699 & ibid., Lands Liste ... tot d 1 Marty 1700.]. However, they also had a residence in Charlotte Amalia in a house owned by Lucas van Beverhoudt.[RA, V-gK, Nr. Landlister for St. Thomas, 1688-1710, Liste Ower Deese Landts Planteres & Inwoonders ... 1699]. After the death of her husband Joachim Melchior von Holten, she was remarried on the 15th June 1712, to Jacob Jørgensøn Magens,[RA, Lutheran Church, St. Thomas, Church Book, 1671-1795, f. 81.]. who was born on 4 May 1682 in Helsingør, Denmark and who died on 25 March 1731 in St. Thomas.[RA, Lutheran Church, St. Thomas, Church Book, 1671-1795, f. 125; E. Gullach-Jensen, "Bidrag til de dansk-vestindiske Øers Personhistorie," Personalhistorisk Tidsscrift, 7 Rk., 1 Bd. (1916), 251.]. She died prior to the 13th January 1718, when the probate for her estate began.[St. Thomas & St. John, West Indies, Index to Probate Records: 1717-1814, Copied by Lolly Prime, Translated and edited by Gary T. Horlacher (St. Thomas, c1997), p. 53.].
