About Maria Gerharda van Dyk, c3d2 SM

Maria Gerharda van Dyk (also known as Gerra Maria van Dijk). In the "South Africa, Cape Province, Western Cape Archives Records, 1792-1992", the Slave records of 1834 vol 20-17 (p3) for George contains the following note by the executors of the estate of the late Gerra Maria van Dijk:

Signed at ‘Plettenbergbaaij’on 16 Dec 1834, by Messrs Pio & Van Rooijen, and witnessed by two others.

From the above it would appear on the face of it as if the date of decease of Gerra Maria van Dijk was ca. 1830 at Plettenberg Bay, then part of the district of George. - Jacobus Frederick Stoeder
