About Mariano Eraña
In 1930, Major Erana was one of the Majors who won the Open District of Columbia Filipino Tennis Championships. In singles, he became the new United States Veterans' Bureau Champion.
In 1944, Col. Erana was one of the first Cabinet members in the re-organized War Cabinet or the Philippines, serving as Judge Advocate General of the Army of the Philippines in charge of the Department of Justice, Labour, and Welfare.
In 1964, The Philippine Legion of Honor was awarded to retired US Army Colonel Erana for Distinguished Service to the Philippine Government.
He co-authored "Veteran's Rights and Benefits - The Complete Veterans Guide".
His parents were Francisco & Merced (Alba) Erana (both deceased by 1925).
