About Marie Fernel

Biography

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Fernel-7

Marie Fernel was the eldest daughter of Jean Fernel, physician at the court of the Kings of France, and his wife Madeleine Tornebüe.

Her birth date is not known. It is estimated here as 1 year after the marriage of her parents (1531). The date of 5 September 1546 comes from the fraudulent Fernald genealogy published by Charles Augustus Fernald and must be discounted.

Origins

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Torneb%C3%BCe-1

Madeleine Tornebüe, was the daughter of a conseiller to the Parlement of Paris. She married in 1531, Jean Fernel, who was a physician to the royal court of Henri II, King of France. They had two daughters (there may have been other children, but these are the only 2 to survive him):

  1. Marie, the elder, who married Philibert Barjot, also a conseiller to the Parlement;
  2. Madeleine, who married Gilles Riant, a lawyer[1]

Death and burial

Madeleine, died perhaps at Fontainebleau in 1558, and her husband Jean apparently only survived her by a month and died there on 26 April 1558. He was buried in the Church of Saint-Jacques de la Bourcherie in Paris.[1]
