Biography

Marie Haché dite Gallant was born about 1713 in Beaubassin.[1]. She was the firstborn child of Michel Hache-Gallant and Madeleine LeBlanc.[2]. She married Jean-Baptiste Savoie 11 Aug 1734 at Beaubassin.[3]. She died at Louisville 26 Sep 1790 and was buried the next day per the register at Louisville.[4]

Note 2: The name Larché is cited by S.A.W. for Marie's grandfather, Michel Haché (Larché) dit Gallant and his father, Pierre Larché.[6]

Biographie

Michel Haché dit Gallant pourrait être le fils naturel de Pierre Larcher, originaire de la paroisse de Saint-Pierre de la ville de Montdidier, en Picardie. Dès 1682, on le retrouve à Beaubassin où il est établi.

Il épouse Anne Cormier vers 1690. Elle est la fille de Thomas Cormier et de Marie-Madeleine Girouard. Ils auront un enfant prénommé Michel, né en 1691, qui se mariera à Grand Pré, le 12 octobre 1711, avec Madeleine Leblanc, fille de Jacques Leblanc et de Catherine Hébert.

Près de 30 ans plus tard, soit en 1720, Michel (le père), son épouse Anne et leurs enfants seront la première famille à s'établir à l'île Saint-Jean (Ile du Prince-Edouard).

L'ancêtre des Haché dit Gallant périra noyé dans la rivière du Nord, le 10 avril 1737.
