Christian Denissen The book states that "bride from South Coast of Detroit groom from Detroit River for a few years before m Rev. Simple Bocquet of Ste. Anne, Detroit made arrangements with Rev. P. Potier S.J. the missionary of the Hurons at Sandwich to marry the couple at the Church of the Hurons "was due to the difficulty and risk of the river." (Records of Ste. Anne)
