IMMIGRATION: 1671, Fille du Roi

Came with her two sisters and her father in 1671, a year in which 40 of the Filles de Roi were from Paris. Since the girls (ages18, 17 and 15) were heiresses, their father seems to have come to make sure they were well married and then returned to France in November or December, probably before the wedding ceremony for the third since his name does not appear as a witness. Each had a dowery of 1,000 livres besides the dowery provided by the king.

La Forest (source for the above also) notes that she singlehandedly raised the eleven children while her husband explored and was a famous Indian scout and commandant of the French fort at what is now Green Bay, Wisconsin. She became depressed after her husband's death and by 1720 required care from her daughter Françoise. Her other children, who had received their inheritance early from their mother in 1719, contributed to her care to support their sister.
