arrived in Louisiana in 1785
The part I am researching is Joseph LeBlanc, Jr., parents Joseph LeBlanc/Isabelle Gaudet. Joseph, Jr. married twice - Marguerite LeBlanc and Marie Pleagie Doiron. There seems to be two Pelagie Doirons who married Joseph LeBlanc in St. James Parish, 7/9/1787. Source: B.R. Archdiocese records, the parents of Plegie Doiron is left off the record.
Marie Peagie Doiron # 1 - Her parents were: Paul Doiron/Marguerite Michel. She was exiled to France where she met and married husband # 1 -- Joseph Lalande. B.R. Arch. records and boat records verify this. She had children with Lalande, but he eventually died. Marie Pelagie was a widow and traveled to La. on La Bergere and landed in New Orleans in 1785.(Boat records and church records). She later moved to St. James Parish and married Joseph LeBlanc (7/8/1787)..(church records for St. James. The confusion comes because on parents are listed in the marriage records. I BELIEVE THAT HIS ONE IS THE PELAGE DOIRON WHO MARRIED JOSEPH LEBLANC.
MARIE CECILE LEBLANC #2 -- Her parents were Alexander Doiron/Ann Vincent. She was exiled to Port Tobacco, Maryland and wound up at Fort Natchez. (list of inhabitants at Port Tobacco and Fort Natchez.) She married AntonioDeravola Rodriguz in Pointe Coupee June 20, 1768. ( Pointe Coupee Church Records, list of inhabitants at Fort Natchz). At some point she must have moved to St. James Parish where she died. I could not find any record of her death, however church records indicate that Antonio Rodgriguez married Jeanne Dardenne in Feb.24, 1778.. This mean that this Pelagie Doiron would have to have died prior to 1778. (St. Gabriel Church records and Archdiocese records.
