Jos. Alfred Maillot (Mailhiot, Mayotte): Born 7 May 1859 and baptized 8 May 1859 at Saint-Pierre-les-Becquets, Québec, died 22 June 1942 in Iron Mountain, Michigan; married 19 October 1880 at Gentilly, Québec to Emilie Bilodeau. (our Great-great grandparents)

Adeline: Married Jean Baptiste Mailhot on 19 October 1880 at Deschaillons, Quebec (this is the same date as the marriage of our g-grandfather Alfred to Emilie so may not be correct. I do have the marriage record for Alfred & Emilie so I know their marriage date is correct).

Melina: Married Arthur Mailhot 27 September 1892 at Fortierville, Québec

Arthemise: Married Alfred Roux on 2 September 1873 at Deschaillons, Québec

Eloi: Married Dulice Auger 12 January 1882 at St-Pierre-les-Becquets, Québec

Generation No. 24

Jos. Alfred Maillot: Born 7 May 1859 (baptized 8 May 1859) at Saint-Pierre-les-Becquets, Québec, died 22 June 1942 in Iron Mountain, Michigan; married 19 October 1880 at Gentilly, Québec, to Emilie Bilodeau, (Emilie was the daughter of François-Xavier Bilodeau and Marie Luce (Lucille) Ratté and was born and baptized 13 May 1861, at Gentilly, Québec, died 13 December 1943 in Iron Mountain, Michigan).

Notes on Jos. Alfred Mayotte: The family moved from Québec to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to the areas of Ishpeming and Iron Mountain in the early 1890s. Alfred worked for the railroad and attended the water tower in Iron Mountain. Alfred and Emilie are buried in the Iron Mountain City Cemetery His family leads to Louis VII of France and Eleanor of Aquitaine.

Children of Jos. Alfred Mayotte (Maillot) and Emilie Bilodeau:

(According to Joan Jacques Scherr, the granddaughter of Alfred & Emilie there were approximately 17 children in this family and our grandmother Maude was the 9th child.) The only children I have been able to verify are the following:

Delia Married to Joseph Meredith. Delia and Joseph lived in Vancouver, B.C.

Children of Delia:

Jacquie (Jackie), 2nd marriage to Leon Gandy. They live in Tacoma, Washington

Olive married to Jack Louchs, North Vancouver, BC

Children of Olive and Jack Louchs:

Mary married to Kenneth Ferraby.

Delia had another son - perhaps named Ray

Emilie (Amelia) Born 10 June 1890, died in 1981 at age 91; married to Harvey Vanitvelt, born 26 March 1890 died in 1963 at age 73.

Children of Emilie Mayotte and Harvey Vanitvelt:

Winifred Born 8 July 1920, died 1976 at age 56

Milton Born 22 March 1923; ordained priest 1949

Marguerite Born 4 June 1929, died 1975 at age 46

Florence Married to Ben Ullwelling

Children of Florence Mayotte and Ben Ullwelling:

Jeanne Died about age 20

Flora Mae Married to Kenneth Jerome.

Anne Married Claude Altenburn. They had no Children

Marie Born 30 December 1887, died March 1979, married to Joseph Barkham. They were divorced. Marie lived in Green Bay, Wisconsin, until her death.

George 2nd marriage to Ida ________

Eva Born 30 June 1896, died at age 95 in October 1991; married Hans Lawson. They lived in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Children of Eva Mayotte and Hans Lawson:

Beverly, married to Raymond Kocha.

In 1961 the children of Beverly were:

Ray, Jr., age 17; Pat, age 15; Kris, age 13; Tom, age 11, Jill, age 8, Amy, age 6; Cheryl, age 4; Matt, age 3; Karen, age 1.

Yvonne, married to Bob Fonder.

Patricia, never married, died age 20 on 21 February 1941

Maudine Mae (Maude): Born 17 August 1894 at Ishpeming, Michigan; died on or about 11 April 1970 at Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; married 27 September 1922 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin(?) to Arthur Francis Jacques, Jr.

Generation No. 25

Maudine Mae (Maude): Born 17 August 1894 at Ishpeming, Michigan; died on or about 11 April 1970 at Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; married 27 September 1922 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin(?) to Arthur Francis Jacques, Jr., who was born 21 August 1899 at Dollar Bay, Michigan and died 26 September 1967 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The parents of Arthur Francis Jacques were Arthur Francis Jacques and Celine Marie Des Rosiers of Marquette, Michigan. (See obituaries for Maude and Arthur and Arthur’s parents in the Jacques section of this album.)

Notes on Maude Mayotte Jacques: She celebrated her birthday on 2 September . She was probably baptized on this date. Her family leads to Louis VII of France and Eleanor of Aquitaine.

Joan Lorraine: Born 17 April 1923 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Presently living in Fairfax, Virginia. Married 10 October 1942 at Quantico, Virginia, to Robert Arthur Scherr, born 27 October 1920, died 1 April 1984 at Fairfax, Virginia.

Robert Arthur: Born 13 June 1926 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, died 31 June 1990 at South Bend, Indiana; married 30 September 1950 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Ellen A. Handeland.

Raoul Thomas: Born 7 August 1934 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, married to Alice Gannon 1957 (Divorced 1973); remarried Diana Hunt, 1975 (Separated 1983; Divorced 1984). No children were born of this marriage. Presently living in Phoenix, Arizona, where he has a law practice.

Remarried in 1987 to Tutsie Silapalikitporn, Phuket Island, Thailand. There are no children born of this marriage.

Joan Lorraine: Born 17 April 1923 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Presently living in Fairfax, Virginia. Married 10 October 1942 at Quantico, Virginia, to Robert Arthur Scherr, born 27 October 1920, died 1 April 1984 at Fairfax, Virginia.

Notes on Joan Lorraine Jacques: Her family leads to Louis VII of France and Eleanor of Aquitaine

Notes on Robert Arthur Scherr: He was an attorney in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired a Colonel in the US Marine Corps. He was also an attorney with the U.S. Postal Service after retiring from the Marines. He was buried 5 April 1984 in Arlington National Cemetery.

Jacqueline Joanne: Born 5 September 1945 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, married 28 February 1964 at Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Robert Henry Shroy (Divorced 1976).

Michael Robert: Born 31 May 1949 at Bethesda, Maryland, married 26 June 1971, in the Chapel at the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland, to Marliese Martin.

Stephen Raoul: Born 22 January 1954 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, married 10 October 1992 at Woodbridge, Virginia, to Linda Diane Lippold, born 30 April 1958 at Bethesda, Maryland. There are no children of this marriage.

Jacqueline Joanne: Born 5 September 1945 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, married 28 February 1964 at Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Robert Henry Shroy (Divorced 1976).

Joan Michele (Shelly): Born 8 September 1972 at Bridgeport, Connecticut, (father Robert H. Shroy -- name legally changed to Scherr in 1976.) ; married 21 April 2001 at Staints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Washington, D.C., to Nicholas James Lambis.

Michael Robert: Born 31 May 1949 at Bethesda, Maryland, married 26 June 1971, in the Chapel at the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland, to Marliese Martin.

Children of Michael Robert Scherr and Marliese Martin:

Kristin Marliese: Born 27 December 1973 at Charleston, South Carolina. Graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1995. Served on the USS The Sullivans. Left Navy, now in college studying for Masters Degree in Engineering.

Renée Marie: Born 27 February 1978 at Brunswick, Maine. Graduated from Villanova University in May 2000. Ensign in the U.S. Navy. Attending flight school. Learning to fly helicopters.

David Michael: Born 20 January 1983 at Fairfax County, Virginia. Graduated from high school May 2001. Now attending U.S. Naval Academy.
