About Marina Obieta

Marina Obieta was the oldest of three sisters, the other two were Luisa Manapat and Lina Sevilla. She would have been 97 on her birthday, come July 25th. She was a medical doctor (one of three in the Obieta family). She specialized in social hygiene, dermatology, and general medicine. She was also Miss Medicine at the University of the Philippines where she graduated. My greatest memory of her, being a strong woman in every sense,

"she bids fare to beat her male colleagues"...that's the Obieta in her.
