Marion Honer, age 86 of Bottineau, North Dakota, died Friday at St. Andrew's Hospital, Bottineau ,North Dakota. Her burial at the St. Mark's Catholic Cememtery in Bottineau, North Dakota.

Marion was born on January 21, 1932 to Adolph and Teresa Michel.

She grew up on a farm outside Spooner, Wisconsin and moved to Bottineau, North Dakota, to attend the school of nursing at the Bottineau Branch of NDSU.

She met her husband, Barney, in Harvey, North Dakota, during a nursing internship and they made a home in Bottineau after marrying on June 13, 1953.

She worked as an RN at both the Good Samaritan Nursing Home as well as St. Andrew’s Hospital. She and Barney raised their four children in Bottineau, North Dakota, and besides being an accomplished cook and seamstress, she followed her passion for art, working in multiple mediums over the years and becoming a well-known local artist.

She was an active member of the Altar Society at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Bottineau, North Dakota and painted an icon of St. Mark which continues to be present in the church today. She learned to skate and cross country ski and loved to walk uptown as well as in the woods, sketching as she sat in front of a lake or an old shack she would come across.

She loved taking trips to visit her kids as some moved away from Bottineau, having many Amtrak adventures with Barney, and always loved returning to Wisconsin for the annual Michel family reunions, seeing Honer family members along the way.

She is survived by her husband, Barney, and four children, Nancy (Harlan) Fevold, Wenatchee, Washington; Tom (Debi) Honer, Soldotna, Alaska; Bruce Honer, Bottineau, North Dakota, and Judy Sills, Brush Prairie, Washington.

As well as seven grandchildren, Justin (Becky) Fevold, East Wenatchee, Washington; Bryan (Lynn) Fevold, Highlands Ranch, Colorado; Tom Honer, Anchorage, Alaska; Jim Honer, Soldotna, Alaska; and Adrian, Quentin and Kayla Sills all from Brush Prairie, Washington; and two great-grandchildren, Kinley and Quentin Fevold from East Wenatchee, Washington.
