About Markus (Mark) (Mendel) Hochfelder
Markus Hochfelder was born in Visoka, Trencin Co., Hungary in 1842. He lived his early adult life in Visoka. In 1895, three years after the death of his wife, he immigrated to the United States, followed by his four daughters on 14 Dec. 1895. Markus is seen living in Manhattan in both 1900 and in 1910:

On 5 April 1905, when his two nephews, Sigmund and Heinrich Hochfelder, and two nieces, Gisela and Ludmila Hochfelder, arrived in the United States, they gave their destination as the home of their "uncle, Markus Hochfelder, 116 Rivington Street, New York, New York".
Shortly after the 1910 census was taken, Markus Hochfelder returned to Europe and joined the family of his son, Samuel Hochfelder, in Budapest. He died in Budapest in 1912, age 70 years, and was buried in the Kozma utca cemetery in plot 29A-2-49. When his daughter-in-law, Frida Hochfelder (Kulka), died at age 96 in 1979, she was buried in the same plot.
