Married his cousin Rebecca Beckwith, daughter of Sir Jonathan Beckwith in 1795, Westmoreland, VA.

1st Battalion, 57th Regiment, Virginia Militia. Roster of the Company formerly Commanded by Captain Thomas Mellan. 1794 - Fined. At a court martial continued for the 1st Battalion 57th Regiment June 6, 1796 for the assessment of fines. Captain Charles Turley's Company Delinquents.

May 18, 1805 - Member of Grand Jury, Prince William County Virginia.

1812 - Four of the children of Marmaduke and Sybil Ellzey Beckwith, followed the Turners to Wood County, WV: Marmaduke B., Newman, Tapley, and Lewis. Elizabeth Beckwith Bronaugh to Ohio.

Large sandstone monument, pointed at top said by Carl Matheney to be that of Marmaduke B. Beckwith, who came here from Virginia, 1812 and who died ca. 1816.
