William Ball, son of Samuel Ball and Ann Catherine Tayloe, was born in 1718 in Virginia. He married Martha Brumfield in 1741 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. They had nine children during their marriage. He died on July 19, 1785, in Fauquier County, Virginia, at the age of 67.
