Martha Carnes

Martha Abney Carnes, widow of James M. Carnes, died on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at The Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
Mrs. Carnes was born in Rockcastle County on September 10, 1923, to Robert T. and Bess McWhorter Abney, both who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter Jo Ann Park (Steve Borders), her grandson: James Michael Park (Belinda Cook). In addition, she is survived by her nieces: Janice Luxon (Edwin), Beverly Pyle, Joni Jones, Lana Conner and Janan Morris; and her nephews: John Carnes, Rob Jones and Jim Morris.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Burnam Azbill, Nancy Morris and Geneva Jo Jones; and two brothers: Rueben and Bobby Abney.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in The Richmond Cemetery.
Pallbearers are: James Michael Park, Steve Borders, John Carnes, Edwin Luxon, Dorlan Grimes and Neil Parke.
