About Martha Almira Daybell

Martha A. North Daybell, 89, of 1730 W. 50 N., Provo, died Wednesday at the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo of a heart attack. She was born January 29, 1893, in Midway, a daughter of Hyrum and Leah Davies North.

She married Robert Daybell on September 13, 1905 in the Salt Lake Temple, and he died May 27, 1953. She received her education in Charleston Schools and lived there until 1924, when she and her husband moved to Provo.

Mrs. Daybell was active in the LDS Church, serving as YWMIA president, Sunday School teacher, Primary teacher and Relief Society teacher.

She liked gardening and crocheting. At the time of her death, she was an active member of the Provo Blind Association. For the past eight years she had lived with a daughter.

Survivors include one son and two daughters, Theo Daybell, Midway; Mrs. Eldon (Bernice)Hartley, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Eva Brickley, Provo; 24 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m in the Sunset Second Ward Chapel, 131 S. 16th W. Provo. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday at the chapel one hour before services. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
