Martha Dorothea Hildebrand Saayman

Martha, who was known as Molly, had a daughter out of wedlock on the 9th October 1935 whom she named Hilda Saayman. Due to circumstances she gave the baby up for adoption. Baby Hilda was renamed Joan Margaret Mostert in 1936 by her adoptive parents but the name was only registered in 1952.

Molly moved from Ladismith in the Cape where she was born, to Pretoria where she trained as a Psychiatric Nurse. She met and married Herculaas Frederick Venter just before graduating. They eventually moved to Brakpan where they lived for many years and when Herculaas retired, he bought a farm in Warmbaths where they lived until his death.
