1870 US Census lists her as living @ Augusta, Oneida Co, NY w/Henry & 2 children

Henry did not remarry until 1874

Exactly 138 years ago today, the following death notice appears in the Oneida Dispatch.

DIED- DUDLEY-Near Morrisville,Nov.1st, of consumption, Mrs. Henry Dudley of Augusta.

Article is dated Fri 15Nov1872. It appears on p 3 col 2. She died just few days shy of her 40th birthday. I looked at 1874 Atlas of Oneida Co, NY & it shows residence of HM Dudley abt mile & 1/2 SE of Augusta. There are only 3 other Dudleys in Town of Augusta, all are neighboring each other. Also, there is Augusta Business Notice for Town of Augusta in atlas. One says-Dudley, WR & HM, Farmers, Breeders & Dealers in all kinds of Fancy Poultry & Game Fowls. PO, Augusta. I have been unable to find her place of burial. I think I will eventually go to Oneida Co Surrogate Crt in Utica to see if there is will or estate of her on file. I think she may have died in same house Jared Wade died in.

Martha (Wade) Dudley found. A death notice in 15Nov1872 (138 yrs ago today) Oneida Dispatch says Mrs Henry Dudley of Augusta d near Morrisville of consumption Nov 1 1872. Wesley would have been around 2 yrs old at time of her death.

I have also found Pheobe was living at Deansville (now Deansboro) w/her 2nd husband, James Bradshaw. I purchased copy of her estate/will at Oneida Co Surrogate's Crt in Utica today. All names listed are familiar to me.
