Biography

Martha Fosdick was born about 1617,[1] or more likely, about 1622, as she deposed in 1659 aged about 38 years, the daughter of Stephen Fosdick[2] and his first wife, Anna (Harre) Fosdick.[3][4]

Her father, Stephen Fosdick, migrated in 1635 from Great Wenham, Suffolk, England with first residence in Charlestown, Massachusetts; after a return trip to England in 1636, he returned to Massachusetts Bay in 1637.[3] It is believed that Martha came to New England as a child with her father, five siblings and her stepmother, settling in Charlestown, Massachusetts Bay Colony.

She married Richard Holden[4] of Watertown, Massachusetts Bay, by 1642.[2][3][5]

Martha died 6 Dec 1681 in Watertown, Massachusetts.[6] "Mathee Houldinge wife of Richard Houldinge dyed the 6th of December."[7][8]
