Martha Howard died in 1703. She was living and signed her husband's probate records in 1701. Her own estate was probated in 1703. I have attached the copy of the probate record from 1701 and a reproduction of page 4 of The Howard Genealogy: The Descendants of John Howard by Heman Howard, 1903 which has a transcription related to the probate of Martha Howard's estate in 1703.

Martha was a little bit of a wild thing, at least for the Puritans. On 8 June 1651, "Martha Haward" was one of seven men and women of Plymouth and Duxbury who were presented in Court for "vain, light, and lascivious carriage at an unreasonable time of the night," and on 7 October 1651, she was one of four of that group of seven who were "released, with admonition to take heed of such evil carriages for the future."

Martha was the daughter of Thomas Hayward. She came to America on the ship Hercules in 1635 with her father, siblings, and uncles.Martha married John Howard, one of the original settlers of Bridgewater.

They were the parents of seven children.

1. John, who married Sarah Latham
2. Sarah, who married Zaccheus Packard
3. Jonathan, who married Sarah Dean & Susanna Keith
4. James, who married Elizabeth Washburn
5. Ephraim, who married Mary Edson Keith
6. Bethiah, who married Henry Kingman
7. Elizabeth, who married Edward Fobes She died between 1700 (death of John) and 1703.
