Martha (unk) Buttry/Buttrice was born about 1606/7 based on her age of 28, when she emigrated to New England on the ship James in July, 1635. Accompanying her on the journey were her husband Nicholas, aged 33 and their daughter Grace, aged 1. [1] [2]

They settled at Cambridge, Massachusetts, were shortly after their arrival, her husband Nicholas died. [2]

She married second, Miles Ives c 1638. [2]

1636: September 8: Martha Buttry was granted house and land on the south side of the Charles River until receiving satisfaction for them, from the inhabitants of the 'New Towne' (Cambridge). [2] 1638/9: Miles Ives sold this in Cambridge to John Jackson. [3]
Martha died on September 15, 1683, aged 77. [4]

Her husband Miles died at Watertown, Massachusetts on August 26, 1684. [4]

His inventory was assessed in October, 1684 at""L200. In his will dated December 20, 1863, he names:

• son-in-law John Polley
• son in-law Lewis Allen
• grandson Abel Allen
• granddaughter Sarah Allen
• grandson Nathaniel Healey and his sister Grace Ireland
• daughter Mary Allen
• Martha Healey (?granddaughter)
• son James Hubbard of Cambridge, residual legatee [5]
• The Healey grandchildren were the children of Martha's daughter, Grace (Buttry/Buttrice) Healey. [6]
