!OBITUARY: "A Saintly Mother Is Called Home"

When two years of age she removed, with her family, to Keithsburg, IL, and later, in 1855, again moved, this time to Missouri, locating near Waterloo, in Clark county.

On Nov 1, 1870 she was united in marriage to George W. Kearns, by Rev Collins. To this union were born eight children, four boys and four girls. Two of these, George Kearns and Mable Kearns died in infancy, and a son William A. Kearns died May 4 1935. Her husband, George W. Kearns, preceeded her in death on Aug 6, 1916.

Mackey of Downers Grove, IL, Harriet Laura Trump, Kahoka, MO and ten grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of loving friends.

She was one of a family of eight children, three of whom survive, namely her brothers, DL Jackson, Chicago, IL., Truman Jackson, Warsaw, IL., and Otto Jackson of Washington, IA.

Since the date of her marriage she has resided in Kahoka, MO.

She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church, loving her church dearly, and attended services regularly, even though she was unable to hear a word that was spoken.

(The writer became acquainted with Mr & Mrs. George Kearns in April 1904, when we lived neighbors to them and in a house they owned. They were two of the best aged people we ever knew, kind, hopitable and upright, ever abounding in the spirit of true brotherhood. A saintly mother has gone to yonder clime to join her devoted companion who preceded her in 1916. Mother and father have gone, but left the record of most worthy lives, lives worthy of emulation. Memories of such noble ones will ever be held in fond rememberance.---The Editor)
