Mary Elizabeth Goff was born on June 14, 1858 in Tifton, Tift County, Georgia, daughter of Samuel C. Goff and Elizer "Eliza" Fain (Hunter) Goff.
On Feb 25, 1874, Martha Elizabeth Goff, age 15, married George W. Conger, age 23, performed by John B. Higdon, Notary Public. They were the parents of 21 children (b) including Bristol Ero (1874); James M (1876); William Lynch (1876); Reason S (1878); John Benjamin (1879); Abraham "Abe or Abram" C. (1880); George Washington, Jr. (1882); Demsey E (1883); Infant Girl (1884); Lulu G. (1885); Lettie Lee (1886); Jehu R. (1888); Euna C. (1890); Elijah F. (1892); Elbert Jackson (1893); Thomas Kibien (1895); Lucy A. (1896); Warren E. (1898); Infant girl (1899); Washington Columbus (1900) and Keith Carson Conger (1904).
On August 12, 1919, Martha Elizabeth (Goff) Conger, age 61, died in Tifton and buried in the Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Tifton, Tift County, Georgia.

July 2009, Jenene (Semple) Cannon researched and found that Maxine Crowell Leonard's CONGER FAMILY OF AMERICA I: page 45 and 204, shows Martha Goff was born in Tifton, GA and died there. Other source had shown birth at Irwin, GA.
