Elizabeth O'Quinn is buried on the Donna Sue Jackson property, on Rt. 615, very close to the Rt. 712 intersection, under a big tree, and in what appears to be a rock pile. Gravesite is not fenced, and is located alongside a chicken lot. According to family legend, Elizabeth was killed along with 2 soldiers, by Indians, as she and her family were traveling through Russell County. The soldiers are to have been buried with her, but I couldn't see anything that suggested that they had been. This grave site needs cleaning.

Wiley and Elizabeth O'quinn had migrated to Russell County around 1849 and lived very near where she was buried. The family legend tells that Elizabeth was killed by Indians along with two soldiers. Of course the last Indian attach in Russell County was over 50 years prior to Elizabeth's death. So it is just a family legend! She died just over 9 months following the birth of her last child so it is likely she died of birth complications of another child. Her grave is marked with a pile of rocks.
