On 17 May 1706 (recorded 10 January 1708/9) Philip Delano of Duxbury, son of Philip Delano of Duxbury deceased (who had promised to deed land to his son Ebenezer Delano, late of Duxbury, deceased), now deeded to [the elder Philip’s] grandson Joshua Delano, only son of son Ebenezer deceased (noting Martha the wife of Ebenezer was still living) upland and meadow with part of a salt marsh adjoining the upland lying off of Pine Pond; Ebenezer had erected a dwelling house on this land and his widow Martha and only son Joshua lived there. Thomas Delano, brother of Philip the grantor owned the other half of the property (Plymouth Co LR, 7:255).

Martha married second, at Duxbury, 20 June 1709 (VR, 328; MD, 9:26), SAMUEL WEST, son of Samuel and Tryphosa (Partridge) West (NEHGR, 60:142, 144), born at Duxbury, 23 December 1672 (VR, 187); died probably at Lebanon, after 3 February 1758 (deed). Martha West signed the power of attorney: " . . . being Gardian to my Son Joshua Delanoe, I do by these presents make Choice of my Brother John Simons for to act in ye behalf of my foresd Son in Dividing of two lots of land in partnership between my husband & my foresd Son . . ." The agreement to give Lot 110 to Samuel West and Lot 116 to Joshua Delanoe was signed by John Simmons and Sam’! West, 28 December 1714, at Duxborough (Duxbury Gen Recs, A:69; Duxbury Town Rec, 163; MD, 29:82).
