Notes
The family was Removed to Indian Territory over the Trail of Tears in 1838, traveling in the detachment led by John Benge and George Lowrey. [3] They settled in the Skin Bayou District.
The family appears on the 1851 Drennan Roll in Skin Bayou living next to Martin's brother Robert (who was married to Eliza's sister Jennie) and his family.[4]
According to the Eastern Cherokee application of son Obediah, Martin died at Skin Bayou in 1875. [5]
