About Martin Hochmeister
The first permanent theatre building (Thalia Theatre) in Szeben was built in 1787–88 by Martin Hochmeister.
He was a printer, bookseller, and newspaper publisher; In early 1790 he launched the Erdélyi Magyar Hírvivő. This paper, which probably did not last long, was a translated version of the Saxon Kriegs-bothe.
Hochmeister also opened the first Book Shop of Romania.
He published the first theater magazine in Romania: 'Theater Wochenblatt' in 1778.
