Martin Konigsberg, 100, Woody Allen's Father

Martin Konigsberg, the father of Woody Allen, has died. He was 100.

He died on Monday, Allen Eichhorn, a spokesman for Woody Allen, said yesterday.

Mr. Konigsberg, who turned 100 on Dec. 25, was a former restaurant waiter and jewelry engraver.

My father is a classic example of a guy who smoked two packs a day since he was 16, Mr. Allen, who was born Allen Stewart Konigsberg, was quoted as saying in The Daily News on Sunday. Eats two eggs for breakfast and meat for dinner seven days a week, dishes of ice cream before bed at night.

Along with his son, Mr. Konigsberg is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Nettie Konigsberg; his daughter, the film producer Letty Aronson; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
