About Martin Leftcovitch

Marcin was one of the 234 Polish exiles from Trieste who left Europe after the failure of the 1830 Upraising.

He became an American citizen in April 1846.

In 1848 the family was living in a houseboat named Cradle of Liberty.

The family lived in the Alexander County, Illinois in 1850 according to the Federal Census.
