Martin Redmayne, Baron Redmayne was born on 16 November 1910.2 He was the son of Leonard Redmayne and Mildred Jackson.3 He married Anne Griffiths, daughter of John Griffiths, on 6 May 1932.2 He died on 28 April 1983 at age 72.2

He was WW II: commander 14th Battalion Sherwood Foresters , 66th Inf Brigade 1944–45, Honour Brigadier 1945 Italy 1943.2 He lived Rushcliffe.2 He was County Nottingham (both UK).2 He was educated Radley.2 He gained the title of 1st Baronet Redmayne. He was decorated with the award of the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).1 He was Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1944.2 He was Member of Parliament (M.P.) (C) Rushcliffe , Government Whip 1951, Lord Commissioner of Treasury 1953–59, Dep Government Ch Whip 1955–9, Parly Sec Treasury and Government Ch Whip 1959–64, dir: House of Fraser, Harrods and Boots in 1950.2 He was Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1952.2 He was Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1959.2 On 29 December 1964 so created and 10 June 1966 respectively.2 He was created Baron Redmayne, of Rushcliffe in the County of Nottinghamshire [U.K. Life Peer] on 10 June 1966.1
