In the 1806 Census he is listed in Kronsweide, by which time he had transferred his property to his son Martin, and he and his wife are living with son Martin, his wife and one daughter (P. Rempel, p. 26). Martin and his family were probably among the 22 families who moved from Kronsweide and Rosenthal to establish the village of Kronsthal in 1809. In the 1814 Census he is listed in Kronsthal among the landless (B. H. Unruh, p. 285). In the Oct 1816 Census he is listed at Kronsthal #2 with his son Martin. In the 1814 and Oct 1816 Censuses he had a foster son named Peter (b. ca 1803) listed with his family. In the Lithuanian records his surname is recorded as Ziemes.
