Mary Alice Sant was born on 18 February 1879 in Treasureton, Idaho to George Sant and Ann Treasure Sant.
She married Thomas James William on 8 July 1897, at the age of 18 in the Logan Utah Temple in Logan, Cache, Utah. They had a log cabin that had only half of the roof finished. They lived in it anyway and Thomas remembered that a bird came every morning and perched on the wall and sang to them. Mary Alice was an excellent housekeeper and a good singer. They had three children: Jennie Von 22 September 1899- 23 September 1899, Thomas Odell 26 April 1902-30 January 1905, and Charles 12 January 1904 – 7 February 1905. At one time there was a measles epidemic. Thomas caught it along with his whole family. He would try to care for them and went to the spring for water. He would pass out and wake up hours later. Mary Alice and both boys died within two weeks of each other. He was still so sick himself that he could not even attend their funerals.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Dec 6 2022, 2:18:59 UTC
