Mary was the daughter of Francis M. and Caroline Jane Martin Pettigrew. She married Dolphus Crow in 1890, the son of McKinney and Nancy Jane Presley Crow. They had 4 daughters, Della, Delphia, Ethel, and Fannie. Mary's recorded birthdates conflict, but I believe the date to be either 1871 or 1872.

Her husband Dolphus died in 1898, leaving Mary to raise their 4 young daughters. One of her daughters, Fannie, died as a child. After her other daughters were grown, Mary moved to Cleburn, Texas and married second Mr. Elihue P. Mathieson sometime before the 1920 census.

After Mr. Mathieson died in 1938, Mary moved back to Georgia and lived with her daughter Della Anderson until her death in 1952.

Husband Dolphus is buried to the right of his parents McKinney and Nancy Jane Crow. Mary is buried next to Adolphus. Both graves are marked with plain marble stones.
