It has been said that Mary was a full-blood Native American, but it's been difficult to locate evidence of this.

Note: the Illinois Marriage Records show her as "Polly Ann Lane" for her marriage to Luke Bryant in 1850 and "Mary Ann Bennett" for her marriage to Isaac Lane in 1846.

OBITUARIES FOR THE YEAR 1901 -- THE RUSHVILLE TIMES August 1

WINSTON. MRS. MARY Mary A. Bennett was born in 1829 and died July 26, 1901 at 8 P. M. She was married three times, her first husband being Alf Lane (should be Isaac Lane), two children surviving - Stephen Lane who resides in Oregon and Mrs, George Benton of Jacksonville, Illinois. Her second husband was Luke Bryant, the surviving children being - George W. Bryant, and Mrs. Laura Bell( of Astoria, John H. Bryant of Bader, Mrs. Julia Griggs and Mrs. Tina Miller of Browning. Her third husband was Solomon Winston, who survives her with two sons - Charles and William. Her remains were laid to rest in the Bader Cemetery, July 27, Rev. Carpenter of Astoria conducting the services.

    The wife of Solomon Winston of near Bader died very suddenly Friday evening with a paralytic stroke? aged 76 years.  She was the mother of 12 children, 9 of whom survive her.  She was a member of the Christian Church, where funeral services were conducted by Rev. Carpenter of Astoria, after whish her body was laid to rest in the Bader Cemetery.       Bader items
