Mary Anne Nixon

Mary Ann emigrated from Burnley,Lancashire to Auckland NZ with her parents Henry and Elizabeth Hirst and her siblings Samuel Luther and James on the barque 'William Watson' (480 tons ).

Departed Gravesend (London) on 21 October 1858 and arrived Auckland on 08 February 1859.

Mary Ann was born circa 1853/1854 at Burnley,Lancs and married the Reverend John Nixon in 1881 (BDM 1881 / 16). They had 1 son and 4 daughters.

Mary Ann died on 09 November 1907 aged 53 years at her Aikman's Road residence, St. Albans,Christchurch NZ. In accordance with Mary Ann's wish,her remains were interred at the Te Henui Cemetery,New Plymouth on the 14 November 1907,within sight of Mount Egmont,Taranaki.
