Mary Ellen Bartlett

Mrs. Mary Bartlett, wife of L.S. Bartlett died at her late home on Sixth street Sunday morning at 8:30 o'clock. The facts of her illness are quite familiar to the public. She was taken sick on the first day of May, on returning home in the evening from the Holliday company's store, where she occasionally gave some assistance. She continued to feel worse for the following week when she was obliged to take to her bed from an attack of pneumonia. She soon became very ill and died as above stated.

The deceased was in her 49th year and was a member of the Congregational church at Galesburg, Illinois. She was a native of Pontiac, Michigan. The deceased was a member of the Woman's Relief corps and the Rathbone Sisters, and both organizations will be in attendance at the funeral. The Knights of Pythias and the Grand Army, of which Mr. Bartlett is a member, will also be in attendance of the body.

The deceased, besides a husband, leaves a family of three children, one boy and two girls. One of the latter daughters is married and a resident of Colorado. She is here to attend the funeral. The son, Benjamin, is at Riverside, California, where the family have a tract of seventeen acres of fruit land, and where they had expected to ultimately make their home.

Mrs. Bartlett was an unassuming and loveable lady. The funeral will be held from the family home tomorrow afternoon at 2:30.
