About Mary Jane Burnett

Mary Jane was born in 1852 just a few months before the family emigrated to Australia aboard the ship "Beejapore", which left Liverpool on October 12th 1852. The ship arrived in Sydney, Australia on 7 Jan 1853 and the emigrants were immediately sent to a quarantine station. Unfortunately, having survived the long journey, little Mary Jane died at the quarantine station. The "Beejapore" emigrants were 'released' from quarantine on 4th March 1853 and Thomas at once sponsored the immigration of his older brother Francis BURNETT.
