About Mary Church

Mary Tucker, who married Joseph Church on December 30, 1660, was the daughter of John Tucker who came over on the Mary and John. She was baptized at Hingham on October 8, 1640 and died March 21, 1710, at Little Compton. All of the children of Joseph Church and Mary Tucker were born at Hingham: Joseph (1663), John (1666), Mary (1668), Elizabeth (1670), Deborah (1672), Sarah (1673), William (1675), Benjamin and Abigail (1680). (NOTE: John A. Church, writing in 1913, may not have had the correct birthdates for the children of Joseph Church and Mary Tucker.)[2]

The name of John Tucker's wife, and the mother of his children is unknown. She married John Tucker by 1636, and on 23 May 1644 "John Tucker's wife died" at Hingham. Their children were 1) John, m. Elizabeth Hobart, d. Mar. 24, 1687; 2) Mary, bapt. Oct. 8, 1640, m. Joseph Church Dec. 30, 1660. 3 Joseph, b. Dec. 5, 1642, d. young."
