Mrs. Lester V. Cooke, 44, passed away at her home in the Fairview District early today after a lingering illness of two years' duration.

She was born in Junction City, Oregon on January 19, 1887 and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Edwards of Fossil Oregon. Her mother parsed away four years ago. She leaves three sisters: Miss Athena M. Edwards, Miss Arda L. Edwards of Fossil, Oregon and Mrs. H. A. Wilson of Nogales, Arizona and two brothers, Terrence V. and J. Weaver Edwards of Fossil, Ore. and her father, also of Fossil.

She was married to Lester Vander Cooke on April 28, 1917 at Drain, Ore. and leaves two sons, William Rufus, 13 and Charles Moran, 11. Mr. and Mrs. Cooke lived in Sunnyside two years when first married, then moved to Fossil where they lived until April 1928, when they moved to their present farm.

The Edwards were pioneers of Oregon; Mr. Cooke was a pioneer of the Cooke family of Oregon and Washington.

The funeral will be held at 2o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Honeycutt Chapel with Rev. B. Scott Bates officiating.

OBIT 2: Per Find A Grave

Mrs. L. Cooke, a resident of the the Fairview District, was called by death Monday, March 2, after an illness of two years' duration. She was 44 years of age and had been a resident of this valley since 1928.

Deceased leaves two sons, Wiliam 13, and Charles 11, also three sisters, two brothers, and a father. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Honeycutt Chapel, Rev. Bates officiating.
