Mary Ann Cruse

Mary Ann Roberts Cruce was the oldest child of Dr. William Martin Roberts and Jane Campbell Roberts. She assisted her father in his medical practice in the Cane Creek area near Warrior, Jefferson County, Alabama. Dr. Roberts owned several hundred acres of property where Cane Creek Cemetery is located. He donated the property for the Cemetery along with the property where the church is located and where he school once stood. Mary Ann married James Hiram Cruce on October 4, 1877 in Jefferson County, Alabama. After her death James Hiram remarried. His second wife was Missouri A Dunnavant. Mary, James and Missouri are all buried here together with James in the middle.
