Mary Lou DeYOUNG

Mary Hardesty DeYoung, 77, of Culver, IN passed away at 12:10 AM Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver after a brief illness.

She was born on December 12, 1939 in Lansing, IL and spent most of her life in South Holland, IL and Beecher, IL.  

On May 9, 1955, she married Frederick R. DeYoung. He passed away on January 12, 1998.

Mary was a homemaker, but held many jobs over the years including bus driver and security guard. She retired from Schumacher Electric. After retirement, Mary and her husband, Fred moved to Francesville, IN.

Most recently, Mary was living at Hickory Creek in Winamac before relocating to Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver.

Mary enjoyed camping and her camping friends. It was her love for camping and this area that brought Mary here after retirement. Mary loved animals, especially cats. She enjoyed socializing, eating out at restaurants and shopping. Most of all, Mary loved her family. She will be sadly missed by those who loved her.

She is survived by: Jerry DeYoung, Lansing, IL Son 2 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild

She was preceded in death by: Frederick R. DeYoung, Husband James DeYoung, Son

Visitation will be from 12 Noon – 2 PM EDT Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN.

No services will be held. Private Burial will take place at Winamac Cemetery in Winamac, IN.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Miller’s Merry Manor.
