About Mary Dix Hodgson
Mary was a Quaker and the church would not give permission for her to marry George Hodson (no records so that he was a Quaker). Mary and George went across to Wilmington, Delaware and were married by a priest in the "Old Swedes Church". Mary was dismissed from the Quaker church because of this.
Twenty-three years later on May 2, 1752, Mary and her four children were officially received into the Quaker Church.
