About Mary Catherine Dube
According to Marcel Fournier: De la Nouvelle-France à la Nouvelle-Angleterre - l'histoire des captifs anglo-américains au Canada entre 1675 et 1760" - Montréal, Société généalogique canadienne-française, 1992, p. 125: the circumstances of Catherine Dunn's captivity are unknown. She was born Mary, c. 1680 or 1682, in Pisendoner (?), near Boston, daughter of Nicholas Dunn and Elizabeth Roberts, married in Oyster River, NH. It is assumed that she lived for a certain time in an Indian mission in New-France, where she was baptised under the name of Marie-Catherine, before being freed and later married Mathurin Dubé in 1724 (contract with notary Jeanneau July 23 1724).
