About Mary Dunk
Mary, daughter of Walter Price of Newington Butts, near London, widow of Philip Petersfield of Holborn.
Children of Thomas and Mary (Price) (Petersfield) North, born at New Haven:
- i. Thomas, b. 30 Jun 1650;
- ii. John, b. 13 Mar 1652; and
- iii. Batshua, b. 25 Dec 1654
Mary married third Thomas Dunck of Saybrook, and died in England whither she went 1670, to recover an estate descended to her, leaving Dunck to get another wife before 10 Jul 1677. [1]
Item from John Winthrop's medical journal: "P. 790. Mary Dunke, about 33 yrs., wife of Thomas Dunke of Saybroo. Thomas North ae. 18, her son; John North ae. 16, her son; Bathshua North ae 14, her dau. 1667/8."[3]

THOMAS DUNK was in Guilford in 1645, but is not mentioned in the list of 1650. He was in Saybrook in 1662 and on the east side of Connecticut River in 1673. His first wife, Mary Price, daughter of William Price of Newington, Butts, County Surrey, England, and widow of Philip Petersfield of Turnstile Alley, in the parish of Holborn, at the age of sixteen or seventeen years, came to New Haven about 1644. She lived with Mrs. George Lamberton some two years, married about 1647 or 1648 Thomas North, and had three children by him. After his death she married Thomas Dunk. No children are recorded. In 1670 she went to England to obtain her father’s estate and probably died there. (See affidavits in New England Reg., vol. 11, pages 159-160, which give the age and home in England of some of the persons making affidavits, one of them being Mrs. Margaret (Lamberton) Goodyear.) On July 10, 1677, Thomas Dunk married Elizabeth Stedman and had Thomas, b. August 6, 1678. She died October 8, 1678, and he died August 9, 1683.
Thomas Dunk married 1st Mary Price widow of Phillip Peterson and widow of Thomas North, whom she married @ 1647 . She had 3 children by North. In 1670 Mary went to England to access her father's estate and never returned. In July 1677 Thomas married Elizabeth Stedman and had Thomas b 1678.
Bathsheba North married John Griswold in Hartford, Connecticut, USA. Her parents were Thomas North 1630-1654 and Mary Price 1627- .
