Mary E. Taylor

Mary Elizabeth Schmucker was born March 18, 1927 in Marlboro Township, Ohio, to the late Joseph E. Taylor and Wilda M. Taylor. She married the late Ian C. Schmucker on July 27, 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband as well as a son, Doyle C. Schmucker, daughter-in-law, Anita Colleen Schmucker and Maggie Schmucker, great-grandson, Douglas Schmucker, brother Evan Taylor, sister, Esther Gerber, sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Marvin Hostetler, brother-in-law, Leon Schmucker, sister-in-law, Lucille Hershberger, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lowell and Shirley Hein. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lorin and Alma Schmucker; daughters and sons-in-law, Nadine and Ralph Aller, Nancy and Craig Haynam, Lucinda and Dan Feess, Colleen and Alan Olin, and daughter-in-law, Phyllis Schmucker; grandchildren, Brett (Tara) Schmucker, Melanie (Kevin) Ulm, Gina (Mike) Conway, Jill (Kevin) Curry, Derrick (Dawn) Schmucker, Brian Schmucker, Jeff (Diane) Schmucker, Jason (Laurie) Schmucker, Kathy (Brian) Bishop, Kurt (Toni) Aller, Melissa (Jason) Calhoun, Travis (Cynthia) Haynam, Emily (Angie) Janero, Corey (Joanna) Yarian, Kyle Yarian, Rebekah Olin and Daniel Olin; Great-grandchildren, Spencer, Isabella and Josephine Schmucker, Michael and Matthew Conway, Nathaniel and Own Curry, Tyler Schmucker, David Schmucker, Anita and Colleen (twins) and Lauren Schmucker, Emma and Alexander Yarian, Dean and Gabriella Yarian and Makayla Breneman; brother Dwayne Taylor; brother-in-law Orris Gerber, brother-in-law Marvin Hostetler, and sister-in-law Evelyn Taylor. Mrs. Schmucker was a homemaker and did cleaning for several businesses and families in Louisville, Ohio. She also worked at K-mart in Alliance, Ohio until moving to Bradenton, Fla. During the 18 years she lived in Florida with her husband, she worked at Christian Retreat Bookstore, McDonalds and Cracker Barrel and was a member of Bay Shore Mennonite Church. Upon returning to Ohio, she worked at Wendy's and was a member of Stoner Heights Mennonite Church. Mary also enjoyed being a volunteer at Alliance Community Hospital. Calling hours will be held at Stier-Israel Funeral Home 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The funeral services will be held at Stier-Israel Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, with Pastor John McGuckin officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alliance Community Hospital Auxiliary or Stoner Heights Mennonite Church in Louisville, Ohio
