About Mary Flynn
GEDCOM Note
DEATH OF MRS J. Mc CABE
With sorrow and regret we announce the death of this kindly, tolerant, and genial lady.
Mrs Mc Cabe was widely known and respected resident of the Ardcarne Parish and her work for her family was highly appreciated by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Some years ago her health began to give way, but her cheerful and patient disposition concealed her condition from all except her husband and children. Two years ago when her youngest child--- Rev. Francis --- was ordained she was resigned to die.
She was typical example of “the Irish mother” so beautifulully portrayed in the “Trimmings of the Rosary”. A large concourse followed her remains from Derrinasoo to Drumboylan Church on Thursday evening . At solemn High Mass on Friday morning, there were sympathisers from Leitrim, Roscommon, and Sligo, and the funeral procession to Kilronan was the largest seen in living memory.
