About Mary Bodine


Rev. John Bodine was the son of Capt. John Bodine and Mary Roundtree. He married Mary Fort on 29 March 1799 in Pemberton, Burlington County, New Jersey. She was the daughter of John Fort and Margaret Heisler.

They had nine children:

Tombstone in Methodist Cemetery in Pemberton, NJ says she died on Nov. 29, 1853. She was in her 74th year. Ronny Bodine wrote, "Mary Fort Bodine died 8 Nov 1853 per Sinnott, p. 170 and Genealogical and memorial history of the state of New Jersey : a book of the achievements of her people in the making of a commonwealth and the founding of a nation. New York: Lewis Historical Publishing Co., 1910.,p. 1369, but 29 Nov 1853 per the cemetery transcription."
