<p>I originally had Indiana as Mary's birthplace. Tim Connor gives Arkansas as Mary's birthplace and this agrees with the 1880 census. Birth and death dates and places are from Tim Connor.</p><p><p></p></p><p><p>The Green Family Cemetery Aka Pleasant Grove or Greenville Cemetery is located about 5 miles North from Highway 80 on the Hopewell Road 3/4 mile North of the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church on the John Green Farm in Graves County, Kentucky. Transmitted to submittor by Joey Fondaw Feb 2000.</p><p><p>______________________________________________________________________________________________________________</p><p><p>Mary Hyde, (d/o) Ezekiel Hyde who was the son of Charles Hyde, native of England, who settled in North Carolina, where he served as a justice of peace and in other local offices in the new state government set up by the patriots during the Revolution. He was married twice, and by his first marriage he had three sons, (1) Joseph settled in Tennessee, (2) Ansel in Breckenridge Co., KY (3) Ezekiel in Arkansas. Ezekiel had a plantation in the Mississippi Delta. One record list Mary being born in Arkansas and another in Mississippi. Familiy tradition has it the Hydes were all massacred by the Indians except Mary who was hiding in the bushes and watched her family die at the fate of the Indians. It is not known how she returned to Indiana. Mary b. Jan. 13 1822 - d. July 25, 1912. William d. Mar. 12 1881 and both are buried on the Roy Green farm not far from where they lived and died.
